Here is an article regarding our latest donations to some worthy and needed equipment requests:Play It Forward Sports, the offspring of Co-Edge Sports and founders Corey Tucker and Richard Robichaud, is giving back to the community.   Money raised through adult sports tournaments is filtered through Play It Forward who are able to donate much needed equipment to community groups.  Since Co-Edge uses Holy Rosary and St. David CSS they felt it only fitting that they also donate equipment to those two schools.  After receiving a wish list from the schools Play It Forward was able to purchase new medicine and utility balls that was presented to students at Holy Rosary on June 14.  Badminton Racquets, birds, balls and stop watches were presented the same day to PE classes at St. David’s where students gratefully received the equipment on behalf of the school.  St. David PE Teacher Sara Collins was especially thankful for the new stop watches as hers had broken just minutes prior to the arrival of the new equipment.  In addition to receiving the equipment students heard Corey Tucker speak on the importance of giving back to their school and their community and ‘p(l)aying it forward’.  Waterloo Catholic DSB promotes the use of school facilities through the Community Use of Schools Program. Debbie Dover, Community Use of Schools Officer at WCDSB, highlights the importance that active recreation plays in the development and maintenance of healthy minds and bodies. She is looking for groups that are interested in running free or low cost programs in our schools after hours that meet the needs of each school community. More information can be found on the board’s website or by calling Debbie at 519 578-3660 X2376.
